You may have noticed that I’ve been absent for a while. I took an opportunity that I hoped would further my career. It paid well but what I really gained was a great lesson: no matter how much money you make, you have to do what you’re passionate about.
As you know, with more money comes more responsibility (and work!) But it was leaving me less time to do my work here. In time, I began to resent the opportunity because it prevented me from doing what I loved – helping you to learn and understand technology, to become tech-savvy. So, I quit. And I haven’t regretted it. 🙂
After I quit, the first thing I did was think about whether I was helping you in the best way possible. I took a long, hard look at the current technology landscape and realized, I wasn’t. Sure, I was giving you the best news and tips out there to keep up to date, but the information was random. There was no way to follow one topic and get good at it. I wasn’t really helping you to become tech-savvy. But all that is going to change.
Welcome to the relaunch of Life’s Digital Bits!
There will be quite a few changes around here – to both the website and to the services offered.
- To start, you can receive one-on-one coaching on any tech topic you need. I will guide you step by step towards your learning goal. Your coaching engagement will also provide you with your own personalized learning roadmap – a guide to know exactly what you need to learn and how to learn.
- For those who want the challenge of learning on your own, self-paced learning roadmaps will be available. They won’t be personalized to your specific needs, but they’ll help get you started on your journey.
- Also, live and online courses will be available. These courses won’t just be “show and tell” videos. They will contain opportunities for you to practice and receive feedback on what you learned. As they say, “practice makes perfect”.
All of these changes are for the sole purpose of helping you to become tech-savvy, a skill that is needed in this new digital age more so now than ever before.
