Export/Import Outlook Contacts | Life’s Digital Bits
Looking to transfer your Outlook contacts? Did you know you can export your contacts to a file that can then be imported into other applications, such as Webmail clients? Here is a guide to exporting them from Outlook and importing them into some common applications. If you run into any trouble, feel free to contact us for help.
- In Outlook, click on the File menu, and then click Import and Export.
- Select Export to a file, then Next.
- Select Comma Separated Value (DOS), then click Next.
- In the folder list, select the contacts folder you wish to export, then click Next.
- Choose a location on your computer to save the file.
- Type a name for the file, click OK and then click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Repeat for any additional contacts folders you wish to export.
Export from Outlook 2010
- Go to the File tab, Options, then click Advanced.
- Under Export, click Export.
- In the Import and Export Wizard, select Export to a file, and then click Next.
- Select Comma Separated Value (DOS), and then click Next.
- Select the contact folder that you want to export, and then click Next.
- Under Save exported file as, click Browse, select a location for the file, and in the File name box, type a name for the file.
- Click OK, and then click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Repeat for any additional contacts folders you wish to export.
