Group Training

What do you mean by Standard, Personalized, and Customized Training? A standard training covers software topics that apply to most people anywhere. Examples would be Excel formulas, managing emails in Gmail, or using Zoom. Whereas, a personalized training focuses more on how your organization or team uses a standard software program. Examples would be using the finance functions in Excel, how to set up your organization’s Gmail labels, or how to access your organization’s SharePoint files. Lastly, a customized training is on a unique software that your organization or team uses, or very few other organizations use. Examples of this would be a program or app created just for your organization or an Excel Add-in that not many organizations use.

Is the group training sessions in-person or online? Sessions can be held either in person or online. Either can be a great option, depending on your needs. In-person sessions are great for building community. You can usually create a team event out of it. But it can be challenging logistically to find a place to hold the session and ensure participants have a device to use. In-person sessions may also incur travel and copy expenses. Online sessions are generally easier to schedule, require no travel or copying handouts, and almost guarantee every participant has a device to use. But, the feeling of community is somewhat lost, and participants are prone to distractions that typically do not happen with in-person sessions. Sessions can be held either in person or online. Either can be a great option, depending on your needs. In-person sessions are great for personal interaction but can be trickier to schedule and can be challenging to find a place to meet. In-person sessions may also incur travel expenses. Online sessions are generally easier to schedule and require no travel. But for some, the feel of personal interaction is somewhat lost. You also may be prone to distractions that typically do not happen with in-person sessions.

What support is available after a group training? Every participant who fully attends a session can contact me via chat to answer questions regarding the content of the training. Participants can ask questions about specific tasks they’re working on or receive support on what they learned in the session. Six months of after-session support is included in all training. More extended support can be arranged for an additional cost.
